Qualified Riggers and Qualified Signalpersons
PSC Crane & Rigging Has Qualified Riggers and Qualified Signalpersons in Full Compliance with New OSHA 1926.1400 Standard
The new OSHA 1926.1400 standard addresses the use of cranes and derricks in construction. The new standard goes into effect on November 8, 2010, replacing the previous standard that was initially established in 1971.
PSC Crane & Rigging recognizes the importance of OSHA’s safety requirements, methods and practices for cranes and derricks. We have taken the initiative to incorporate the necessary advancements in order to provide improved protection for the qualified employees who work on and around our cranes and derricks.
The services that PSC Crane & Rigging has added include:
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration standard is designed to prevent the leading causes of crane and derrick related fatalities such as electrocution, crushed-by/struck-by hazards during assembly/disassembly, collapse and overturn situations. It also sets requirements for ground conditions and crane operator assessment. In addition, the rule addresses tower crane hazards and the use of synthetic slings for assembly/disassembly work. The new OSHA standard also clarifies the scope of the regulation by providing a functional description and a list of examples.
